The Installer receives, unloads and installs (assembles) systems furniture (modular) and freestanding furniture for One Workplace (OWP). The Installer reports directly to the Installation Supervisor. Installers take daily direction from Lead Installer and Field Quality Control Supervisor to ensure accurate and timely installation of furniture in compliance with manufacturers specifications, serving OWP customer needs, according to management directives.

Overall, OWP is seeking the following traits in an Installer:

  • Ability to read and interpret furniture installation drawings and blueprints
  • Good understanding of budgeting and quote parameters to develop job plans and manpower needs


  • Assist in the loading, unloading and occasional transportation of furniture
  • Install (assemble) furniture both modular and freestanding, in compliance with manufacturers specifications
  • Identify and develop product lists from blueprints necessary to complete installations
  • Install furniture in compliance with design (blueprint) specifications
  • Provide fine-tuning of furniture upon completion of installation, i.e.

    cleaning, wiping down and leveling

  • Take direction from Lead Installer and Field Quality Control Supervisor for loading, transport, unloading, staging, stripping, assembly and movement of furniture
  • Perform custom furniture modifications such as cutting surfaces to accommodate site conditions
  • Assist lead in execution of job plan including taking temporary charge of an area of build site or crew up to 4 members


  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Mechanical ability, knowledge of hand/power tools, good organizational and communication skills
  • Seeing, color perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, touching (dexterity), drivers license
  • Complex reading and writing skills, complex math and statistics skills, judgment and decision making, analysis and comprehension

Work Environment:

  • Regularly works alone or with others, has face-to-face contact, may work inside and outside and works around mechanical equipment and moving objects. Occasionally works different shifts, in extreme heat or extreme cold, may work around electrical equipment, fumes/odors and dirt/dust. Generally works in an environment with noise from forklifts, trucks and hand held power tools.
